15+ years in diverse commercial and mission-driven sectors, spanning journalism, not-for-profit, consumer goods, professional services, and business-to-business.
corporate governance
samantha was elected to the board of directors at the canadian internet registration authority (cira) in 2021, serving on the governance, fair (finance, accounting, investment, and risk), and community investment committees.
she was twice appointed to co-chair the community investment committee and obtained her icd-gep certification in 2023.
samantha continues education through the institute of corporate directors.
community participation
samantha served as editor-in-chief for model united nations, a judge for the made in blog awards, and member of the urban land institute’s communications committee.
she volunteered with west neighbourhood house for three years as a literacy tutor before founding proactive citizen, a media literacy and civic action project that collaborated with over 30 journalists, researchers, artists, and students.
samantha is a member of cira and techto and volunteers with grassroots political campaigns.
